Remove awning switch then using a short piece of wire connect the 12v power terminal to the extend and then retract side of the switch.

If the awning extends and retracts properly you need to replace the switch. When your electric awning won t open electric awnings give you the ability to choose between shade and sun whenever you want as long as the awning is working. Take some time inspecting the awning for any signs of warping weather damage rusting tearing in the awning fabric itself or the motor overheating and working too hard.
