There are two basic types of electronic ignition systems.
Most electric furnaces have an ignition button with a smaller red button next to it.
Once the power is off you can remove the burner door to reveal the ignitor.
If you ve got an older model with a pilot light that ever burning blue flame resetting the furnace can intimidating but it s an easy process.
Press the two buttons simultaneously.
To do this you must cut the power to the furnace first by turning off the circuit that powers it.
Turn this to off and leave it off for at least 5 minutes.
Reset the igniter switch the igniter to the off position and wait at least five minutes before turning it back on.
Turn your furnace back on.
Find the ignition button.
You can reset the ignition on your furnace simply.
Some furnaces may have a red button that you have to push to reset it.
Furnace lockout reset procedure though lockout mode errors and resets do vary from manufacturer to manufacturer most use a simple reset procedure that involves turning power off to the furnace for thirty seconds or longer and turning it back.
